Ingrid Lausund

Ingrid Lausund was born in Ingolstadt in 1965. She traveled extensively (Greece, France, USA) before beginning her studies in theater directing in 1987. She co-founded Theater Ravensburg in 1992, an ensemble for which she wrote plays and directed. Over the last seven years, she has written 30 plays, most of them comedies. She was invited to Kazakhstan in 1998 as a guest director at the German Theater Academy Almaty, where she created Glücksfelder, a play about sadness and desire, with students of the academy. The production toured through Russia and Europe and was invited to several festivals. She then traveled to India, France and Brazil. Lausund began working at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg in 2000 as director and resident playwright, where she directed the premieres of her Plays “ Hysterikon” and “Slipped Disc”. She lives in Hamburg.
